1900
Company founded by A. T. Siddons in the city of Leicester. Established by buying and selling wooden crates and boxes from it’s works in Dryden Street. Damaged boxes and crates were repaired and cleaned before being sold to local factories and movers.
1915
Became A. T. Siddons & Sons with the 2nd generation joining the Company.
1940
3rd generation joins the Company. Continued trading during the war years supplying many local industries involved in the war effort. Also provided transport to ship locally made products, such as air raid sirens, etc. throughout the country.
1952
Company incorporated as A. T. Siddons & Sons Ltd.
1955
Commenced the manufacture of wooden cases and cartons. Company saw a rapid expansion in new and second hand cartons. As corrugated board became popular and economical, many businesses saw the advantages over traditional wooden cases.
1965
4th generation joins the Company. Product range increased to include other associated packaging, such as adhesive tapes, paper, polythene bags, polystyrene, bubble and stretch wraps etc. Whilst these products were not the core of Siddons, existing customers enjoyed the convenience of being able to purchase all their packaging supplies from one source.
1993
Move to present site at Kingsley Street, Leicester, providing over 22,000 square feet of modern production and warehousing space. The extra space meant more efficient stock organisation and a larger area dedicated to production and raw board storage.
1996
Just-in-Time production facility commissioned, to provide a rapid response for made-to-order cartons and fittings. Brand new manufacturing machines were installed to enable this new fast turn around service.
1997
Print facility installed to provide fast printed carton solution. Using a Flexographic system, our printed cartons are produced fast, economically and to a consistently high standard.
1999
Email installed into our NT computer network system. Together with our in house artwork services and our email, we are now able to communicate more effectively our customer's exact print requirements without the delays of art proofing via postal mail.
2001
State-of-the-art Gluing and Stitching stations incorporated into production line up to increase throughput whilst improving the economical efficiency of larger runs.
2003
Internet and email services now taken care of by our new Linux server. With our firewall and routing managed by the Linux operating system, our broadband internet connection is extra secure, stable yet high performing.
2009
New "Sipak Self-Store" service created for new and existing Sipak customers. We now offer flexible, economical and secure storage facilities for your excess stock or personal belongings.
2010
Gareth and Steve from East Midland Packaging Supplies move all their business to Siddons. This GREATLY increases the range of packaging we offer, especially in "flexible" products. Their expertise and knowledge in this area spans many years. We welcome them onboard.
